Sculpture Number 128
Oona is based on the faerie from my favorite movie ever, Legend...

Oona was created using Prosculpt Polymer clay. She was constructed over a very sturdy wire skeleton, and baked according to manufacturers specifications to ensure maximum strength.
Her eyes are white beads, inset into the clay and baked. They were then hand painted using different shades of blue acrylic paint and then glazed. Her facial features, and areas of her body, were also shaded using Genesis heat set oils. She has a small undergarment top and bottom, which are not removable. Her hair is wild blonde Tibetan mohair, applied lock by lock. She has glitter dusted all over. Her wings are REAL dragonfly wings! My husband found a perfect (although no longer living) dragonfly at his work... the wings turned out lovely. Thanks Miguel! They are poseable and transparent. Oona measures approximately 3 and 1/2 inches to the top of her head (hair).
